Board Calls Special December Meeting in College’s Superintendent/President Search

Following the swearing-in of the newley elected Trustees the College Board chose Vice Presidents Michael Kerns and Angelica Suarez to serve as acting Superintendent/President. Kerns, currently Vice President for Human Resources, will serve from today until Dec. 31; Suarez, currently Vice President for Student Affairs, will serve from Jan. 1 – 19, the date of the Board’s January meeting.

“The Governing Board understands the community expects an open and fair process that identifies the best Superintendent/President for the College,” Board President Tim Nader said. “In the meantime, the College is in the hands of able caretakers, allowing us to continue meeting the needs of our students and moving forward with the selection process.”

The Board also announced a Special Meeting for Tue., Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the process for selecting an interim Superintendent/President while the College searches for a permanent replacement.
